Gumstix Overo™ Earth To Replace Verdex Line
October 28, 2008
The GumStix Verdex product line will not be sold after December 2008.
The good news is that the Texas Instruments base “Overo” line will replace the old design, while the Verdex Pro will still be sold. Overo is *smaller* then a single piece of gum (unlike the Verdex and Verdex Pro which are the size of a stick of gum)! Starting price will be less then the XL6P, with more power!
Overo will have a USB Host so existing robotic daughter boards should still will work.

This comment “The best selling GumStix Verdex Pro product line will not be sold after December 2008″ is NOT accurate.
Gumstix, Inc. is now focused on both the Verdex Pro and the Overo product lines.
Gumstix is phasing out the verdex product line, which uses the EOL 120-pin connector, and the PXA255-based basix and connex product lines in favour of the more current OMAP 35x and PXA270-based product lines of Overo and Verdex Pro.
Customers wanting to buy basix or connex products in volume through 2009 should contact (sales [at] gumstix.com).
